Caitlyn Hauke

IBC Chair

Caitlyn Hauke is an infectious disease microbiologist with a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Dartmouth College, where she later served as the biosafety officer for four years. Caitlyn started her scientific career as a forensic science student before shifting gears for her graduate work in vaccine development. As a biosafety officer, Caitlyn has experience in biosafety review and risk assessment from benchtop to clinical trial.

Caitlyn is a youth camp volunteer, green burial advocate, educator, and leader. In 2021, she was voted a top “40 Under Forty” in New Hampshire. When she’s not working or volunteering, Caitlyn loves to kayak, walk with her dogs, travel, and play the steel drum!

Mission Statement

Our mission and expertise at Clinical Biosafety Services is to provide accelerated, compliant review of gene transfer/gene therapy clinical trials to a convened review of a site-specific Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). We do this by understanding the challenges in the two client relationship of serving an institution and a sponsor.

Our focus is to accelerate the trial, and remove regulatory burden and uncertainty by having our highly trained experts provide friendly, knowledgeable support during the review process. We understand these therapeutics will change medicine, and our service is to bring the trial to enrollment fruition, quickly and compliantly.
